The second significant recall that the fitness company has dealt with involves 2 million exercise bicycles due to safety concerns.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the seat posts of the bicycles can break while in use, providing a risk for falls and injuries to riders.
The CPSC reported that Peloton has already received 35 reports of the seat post fracturing and separating from the bike while in use, including 13 instances of injuries, including one wrist fracture, lacerations, and bruising.
The press release advised consumers to avoid using the recalled exercise bikes right now and get in touch with Peloton for a free repair. "Peloton is giving customers a free, easily-installable seat post."
There have been numerous recalls of Peloton products before. After a child died from one of the treadmills and other issues, it was forced to recall 125,000 of its Tread+ treadmills in May 2021.
